British Curriculum
A Distinctive British Education for a Global Future
At King’s College Riyadh, we provide an exceptional British education that inspires curiosity, creativity and confidence. Rooted in the excellence of King’s College UK, our curriculum combines the rigour of the English National Curriculum with the warmth and inclusivity that define a King’s education.
Students follow a seamless learning journey designed to stretch and support them at every stage. Specialist teaching, small class sizes and personalised pathways ensure every child is known, valued and encouraged to achieve their very best.
Our curriculum celebrates both British educational excellence and the cultural richness of Saudi Arabia. Arabic Language, Islamic Studies and Social Studies are central to our programme, helping students to grow with a strong sense of identity, heritage and global perspective.
At King’s, we do not just prepare students for exams; we prepare them for life.

Early Years: Pre-School and Reception (Ages 3 to 5)
The Adventure Begins
Education at King’s starts with wonder. In our purpose-built Early Years Centre, learning is playful, immersive and irresistible. Every day is an opportunity to explore, discover and grow.
Small class sizes and talented British-trained teachers ensure that each student receives the attention and encouragement they need. With a full-time teaching assistant in every class, learning experiences are tailored to each child’s interests and style.
Our bright classrooms and outdoor learning areas inspire curiosity and independence. Whether exploring nature, building early numeracy and literacy skills, or learning through imaginative play, our youngest students develop confidence, social skills and a lifelong love of learning.
Pre-Prep: Years 1 and 2 (Ages 5 to 7)
Building Strong Foundations
In the Pre-Prep years, students build on the curiosity and confidence developed in the Early Years. Our broad curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum and enriched by the standards of King’s College UK, providing the perfect blend of academic rigour and creativity.
English, Mathematics and Science form the foundation of learning, while specialist teaching in Arabic, Islamic Studies, Music, PE and Swimming broadens every child’s experience. Learning is hands-on and joyful, and our caring staff ensure that emotional wellbeing grows alongside academic progress.
Parents are welcomed as partners in their child’s learning, with opportunities to take part in sessions such as Stay and Play, which make learning collaborative and fun.
Prep School: Years 3 to 8 (Ages 7 to 13)
Expanding Horizons
As students move into the Prep years, their sense of curiosity and courage grows. The curriculum broadens, encouraging deeper thinking and independent learning. From Year 5 onwards, King’s is proud to be the only school in Riyadh where all subjects are taught by specialist teachers, ensuring students are challenged and inspired every day.
Our Prep curriculum combines strong academic foundations with a focus on character, leadership and creativity. Students are encouraged to explore new interests, take on responsibilities and develop resilience, learning how to work collaboratively, think critically and act with integrity.
Beyond the classroom, students enjoy a vibrant programme of co-curricular activities, music, sport and competitions that extend learning and build confidence. Our extended school day allows every child to pursue their passions and discover new ones.
The Prep School bridges the gap between early learning and adolescence, ensuring students are fully prepared, both academically and personally, for the next stage of their education as King’s College Riyadh continues to grow towards Year 13.
