King’s College Riyadh has marked an exciting milestone, with just one year to go until our new SEDRA campus welcomes its founding students in August 2027.

Located within ROSHN Group’s SEDRA community in north Riyadh, the new campus continues to take shape as we look ahead to opening next year.

The milestone was celebrated at a special event bringing together the King’s community with colleagues from Cognita and ROSHN Group, alongside government representatives, education leaders, students, parents and partners.

Guests included Dr Alice Burt, Deputy Ambassador at the British Embassy Riyadh, and Maryam Alasmari, General Education Sector Development Senior Director at the Royal Commission for Riyadh City. Principal Jacqueline Doran also attended alongside senior representatives from King’s College, Cognita and ROSHN Group.

For King’s College Riyadh, SEDRA marks an important next chapter in our journey in the Kingdom. Building on the community established at our Diriyah campus over the past six years, the new campus will allow more families across Riyadh to become part of the King’s experience.

Speaking at the event, Darren Gale, Managing Director, GCC at Cognita, reflected on the significance of the milestone:

“At SEDRA, we have the opportunity to bring those strengths together to create something really special for young people and families: an exceptional British education, global in outlook and authentically rooted in the culture, identity and ambition of Saudi Arabia.”

Oussama Kabbai, Group Chief Development Officer at ROSHN Group, also highlighted the role education plays in creating thriving communities, describing the campus as an important part of ROSHN Group’s vision for SEDRA.

When King’s College Riyadh SEDRA opens in August 2027, it will initially welcome students from Pre-School to Year 9, before expanding progressively to Year 13. The purpose-built campus will include specialist facilities across science, technology, the arts, performance and sport, creating a rich environment for learning both inside and beyond the classroom.

The new campus brings together the heritage of King’s College UK, the foundations established by King’s College Riyadh, Cognita’s global education experience and ROSHN Group’s vision for family-focused communities.

With one year to go, we are excited to see the SEDRA community continue to grow and look forward to welcoming our founding families in August 2027.
